Playgrounds in Nürnberg

Waldspielplatz am Steinbrüchlein

“The forest playground at Steinbrüchlein is a wonderful place for children up to about 10 years old. It offers a variety of play opportunities, including several slides, a climbing wall, a sandbox, and swings. Notably, there is a long climbing course that runs behind the playground, as well as shelters that invite creative building. Surrounded by nature, children can discover interactive spots where they can hear the chirping of birds. The playground is a quiet retreat, but it can also get quite crowded on weekdays.”

Spielplatz Fuchsloch

“The Fuchsloch playground offers a beautifully designed environment with plenty of shaded areas, ideal for families. The cleanliness and good condition of the play equipment are noteworthy. Especially for children aged 3 and up, there are numerous opportunities for playing and climbing. However, the path to the playground is heavily frequented by dog owners, leading to an unpleasant situation with many dog droppings. The playground is less suitable for toddlers, as the offerings are more geared towards older children.”

Spielplatz Am Gaulhofener Graben

“The playground at Am Gaulhofener Graben offers a quiet and well-maintained environment, ideal for families with younger children. The facility is clearly laid out and designed for safety, featuring various play equipment such as swings, slides, and climbing elements. The soft, child-friendly ground ensures safety while playing. Surrounded by plenty of greenery, there are numerous seating options for relaxation. Notably, the cleanliness of the area stands out, as it is usually not overcrowded, providing a piece of tranquility in the middle of the city.”

Spielplatz Südtiroler Platz

“The playground Südtiroler Platz in Nuremberg is a modern and well-maintained place, ideal for families with small children. With a rating of 4.6/5, the playground offers shady spots, water games, and a slide. The spacious area includes both a section for younger children and a fenced soccer field for football enthusiasts. The clean environment and numerous climbing opportunities ensure plenty of fun and safety. Parents can relax on the benches while the children play. The proximity to Hasenbook Park makes this playground a popular destination for outings.”

Spielplatz Hohe Marter

“The Hohe Marter playground in Nuremberg is a colorful and well-maintained place, ideal for children of all ages. Surrounded by plenty of greenery, it offers numerous climbing opportunities, slides, and swings, all arranged around a large sandbox. The shaded seating areas invite you to linger while the children can let off steam. Although part of the play area is in the sun, the playground is overall highly recommended and provides a safe environment for play and fun.”

Spielplatz Kontumazgarten / Praterstraße

“The Kontumazgarten playground on Praterstraße offers an inviting environment for children with a slide and a trampoline. It is enclosed, providing a safe play area. Despite the temporary closure due to circumstances, many visitors look forward to returning to play with their children. The adjacent park has recently opened and features a large green space, ideal for family outings. Its location at Hallertor between the Großweidenmühlsteg and the Hallertorbrücke provides a picturesque backdrop.”

Eibacher Forstweiher Spielplatz

“The Eibacher Forstweiher playground in Nuremberg is a child-friendly place equipped with a variety of play equipment such as slides, swings, and a climbing frame. The shady spots under the trees provide a pleasant atmosphere, especially in summer. The playground is ideal for families who want to watch their children play while they relax. However, currently, 60% of the playground is under construction, which limits its use and has disappointed some visitors.”

Spielplatz Bunsenstraße

“The playground on Bunsenstraße in Nuremberg offers an appealing environment for children with climbing opportunities and a swing nest. Despite its positive aspects, the area is often perceived as unkempt, as it is regularly littered and the seating is dirty. Parents report a mixed crowd and a limited selection of play equipment for toddlers under 6 years old. Nevertheless, the space is suitable for older children as long as cleanliness is improved.”
